Welcome to My Story.

I am so glad you found your way to my website, come on in sit a while relax and enjoy. My story Where do I start? I guess from the beginning.

Ok here is my story.

I have always loved four legged furry critters of all kinds. Once when I was very young my mama said I brought home a 3-leg dog, I don't remember that too well I just knew I loved animals. What goes with animals? Country life. Yep, that's where I wanted to live, in the country with lots of animals. There was a time when I was very young we did live in town. A small town and that was ok. I made many friends, but my very best friend was a sooner named Skip. He was the best we did everything together. He was a great childhood dog.

When we finally moved to the country, I have to tell ya I was so excited. It wasn't long before I got a horse. She was a red and white pinto I named her Brandy. So then, it was Skip, Brandy, and me. I couldn't ask for more, my best friend Skip and my Pinto Brandy. So, you see, that is who I am, country girl, and animal lover with a twist for fancy.

I left North Carolina when I was 20 years old and made my way out west. Nevada to be exact. In time, I went from a young girl to grown up woman, got married, and found myself looking for the country life. Not long after I got married, we moved from the city to the country, one acre and a cute little house. We lived there with three horses, Moonshine Lightning, That's Jetadoll, BR Bud N Munchies and a donkey, Lil Joe. I still have Bud N Munchies and Lil Joe. Moon and Jet are now deceased.

We also had four dogs, Rowdy Yates my faithful Border Collie, Scruffy a pom and peke mix, Brandy half wolf and german sheppard, Goldie collie mix and a ferret named Kidd. Oh, I had a pot-bellied pig too. Life was good. After living on the one acre, I was ready for a bigger piece of property and we found it. We moved onto 40 acres in Palomino Valley Nevada (aka) North Forty Ranch. North Forty Ranch was located about 20 miles north of Sparks, Nevada off Pyramid Highway and five miles of dirt road. It was great, more space inside and out. An added bonus was the location of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) holding facility, which manages and controls the wild Horses and Burros.  www.aowha.org                                         www.wildhorseandburro.blm.gov

Although I did not like all the beautiful horses and burros in the holding facility, it sure was a sight to see. I had the pleasure of adopting a mustang. He was only about a week or so old, what a joy of raising a living legend. He has since gone on to a successful show career.

I wanted to own my own business so I thought what would I like to do.

I decided to sell Livestock gates and panels. I enjoyed every minute of it, learned a lot, met many wonderful people, and was very successful. You see there is only about 20% of land owned by private citizens and the rest is government own, so not a lot of land with virtually no pastures, so that's where gates and panels come in.

Fast forward a few years, got divorced. I guess you could say people change and go in different directions. Life goes on.

One day I decided to go to the livestock auction I wanted a calf. Unbeknownst to the seller and me I purchased a day old heifer. I thought I had bought a bull calf and so did he, but when I got home and this little jersey calf had to relieve its self I thought, um that's not a bull calf. So now you know how MeMew came about. She is 7 years old and is my big baby. I also had a Hereford cow named Vicki.

Fast forward to 2002. I decided I wanted to start a breeding program. That's just what I did. I purchased APHA Sensational Nick and was well on my way into the breeding world.

I had great success the first year standing him at stud. We had 3 foals that year. The first foal was born on my birthday and I got to see it come into this world. What an amazing thing to see. Nick has one foal this year NF Sierra Moon was born May 4, 2009, here at the ranch. She is out of my mare APHA Mystical Moon. Take a look at Nicks Page.

After much thought I, decided to leave Nevada and move back to my home state of North Carolina. I wanted to be near my family so the journey began in the summer of 2004. Off I went and all the animals moved with me. Lets see there were 3 horses and a foal, 1 cow, 3 cats and 2 dogs. What an adventure. We all settled in here at the ranch. It took some time to get use to the climate change; I'm still trying to adjust to the humidity.

The spring of 2006, I met my husband Jerry, we were married 6 months later; I guess one could say it was love at first sight. I never thought it could happen the way it did, but it did. At any age, all things are possible. Jerry grew up on a farm where his family lived on everything they grew. He enjoys working outside tending to the garden here on the ranch. He takes great pride in the garden we have planted. He especially is proud of the Watermelons, Corn, and Tomatoes. Let me tell ya the corn, tomatoes and watermelons are so sweet. We have three types of Watermelons Charleston Gray, Jubilee, and Congo.

We have always loved and wanted a Boxer so again, here we go. I set out to find that special boxer puppy. After searching, I found Maggie Mae. When we saw her for the first time, it was love at first sight again. What a sweet girl she is. After a lot of thought and conversation, we decided we wanted to become breeders. Therefore, I set out to find that perfect match for her.

After searching and searching, I found a wonderful male, Busta of Def Star. We also purchased a male boxer puppy Blade of BlackHeart as a pet. So now, we have 2 boxers and puppies on the way. Take a gander at BlackHeart Boxer page. On December 7, 2008, Maggie gave birth to 7 beautiful healthy brindle puppies. All puppies were placed in loving homes except BlackHeart's Sabras Edge. Sabra is a beautiful girl and destined to be a show dog. Our first show is July 25 and 26 2009 in Greenville SC. The next show will be Greensboro NC.

Oh and remember the 3 legged dog I had when I was a kid? Well I have a 3-legged dog now her name is Holly Marie. Kinda funny isn't it. Talk about full circle.

Look around the site and if you are looking for a Paint Stallion to breed your mares too then take a look at Nicks Page. If you are looking for a boxer puppy the next litter will be sometime in the winter. In addition, if you want homegrown fruits and veggies we've got'em.

This is my story and I'm stickin to it.

Well folks I hope you have enjoyed your stay here at North Forty Ranch home of BlackHeart Boxers. Please come back for a visit.
